Welcome to this week’s newsletter which is brimming with cocktails and flowers!
It’s been a glorious week here in Sussex, and the county is looking its absolute finest with the hedgerows and countryside in full bloom! I’ve been over in the east of the county again, hunting down follies and poets, and it never ceases to amaze me what spectacular views that corner of Sussex has, especially as you travel from Rye to Heathfield.
This week on our social media pages, we’ve been running a ticket giveaway to the “We are not a festival” Summer Solstice Festival later this month on the edge of Ashdown Forest. It sounds divine and you’ve still got time to enter. Just click here!
The really good news is that tomorrow is World Gin Day which gives you an unashamed reason to sample some of our Sussex gins. To help you with that, Foxhole Spirits have released a new gin (and three cocktail suggestions) so you really have no excuse not to get stuck in.
If you’re planning your summer outings, you could head east to visit Bates Green Garden near Hailsham, or west for the Stansted spectacular! And for those in the middle, what about the Dolls House exhibition at Leondardslee Gardens … I know you may be cynical but honestly, it’s quite something!
And don’t forget to have a good rummage around on the website for lots of other interesting ideas and to catch up with Lisa Brace who’s been exploring a new flower garden.
That’s it for now. Do enjoy the fabulous weather and please feel free to say hi on social media!
