Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Fine food, great walks and 10 reasons to visit Petworth

Welcome to 2022 and our first newsletter of the new year.

Happy New Year! I hope you had a good one and feel refreshed after the holidays and ready to face the year! We’ve got lots of exciting plans for 2022 here at SE HQ and we have already been out on the road exploring. One of the things we’ll be doing is launching our digital magazine so do look out for that as we’re already beavering away getting it ready.

Each month we’ll also be featuring a different town in Sussex, starting this month with beautiful Petworth. It’s an absolute treasure trove of things to do and well worth putting on your list of places to visit this year. While you’re in the Petworth area you might also want to explore some local walks so why not head to nearby Graffham and Lavington Common, which are both great spots to enjoy the outdoors.

As you know by now, when I’m not out walking and exploring, I’m normally eating and if you’re looking for a great place to eat, what about Tristan’s, Horsham’s Michelin starred restaurant?

And finally, and because we love all things quirky about Sussex, this week we’ve got another post in our Strange Tales of Old Sussex series, which takes a quick look at place names and old Sussex speak.

That’s it for now. Keep warm and have a great weekend.
