Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Sussex brewery, sculpture, nature & The Beatles!

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. I’m delighted you are joining me for a quick canter around the county!

It’s getting exciting, isn’t it? Things are re-opening, the weather is getting warmer (if a little wet) and we can actually start to make plans and meet people (although personally, I am not a fan of hugging so I’ll pass on that, thank you).

As Sussex bursts into life, if you know where to look, this week the bluebells and the wild garlic are both in bloom together, surely one of the best sights of the spring.

In other news, this week I’ve got a few teasers for you which are literally hot off the press: like the new sculpture exhibition which is now open at Borde Hill, the new Sussex brewery and taproom which is opening in Haywards Heath (details on the website as I had no room left here), a new community-based project all about connecting with nature and the new Loxwood Drive-In Beatles experience, news of which has only just been released and which is opening in July.

If you follow us on Facebook, you’ll know this week I was over on Ashdown Forest and accidentally found myself in the Tasting Room in East Grinstead, surrounded by local wine and gin! Definitely one for a future feature. And I also met a wonderful nurse from Crowborough who launched her own furniture upcycling business and workshops in October last year (her shop and showroom Fantissimo is packed to the rafters with goodies).

Meanwhile, I hope you have a nice, warm table booked at an eatery of your choice on Monday as we enjoy the next phase of lockdown relaxations … I have!

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
