Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Sussex festivals, a dash of rum & something ethereal!

Welcome. The weather may be dull but the pubs are open and there’s lots to look forward to, particularly when it comes to our Sussex festivals!

OK, I’m not going to lie to those of you who are not in Sussex. This week has been a little soggy and during the course of my adventures, I’ve been caught in more than a couple of absolute downpours. Even as I type, we’re battening down the hatches as a storm rolls in! But let’s not allow that to dampen our spirits.

Yes, this week has been all about eating in! Whoever thought that would be a thing but like many others, I did my civic duty by having my second jab and then supporting a number of local pubs! I’m glad to say our writer, Lisa Brace, has also been taking her responsibilities very seriously too by supporting our local rum producers. We’re nothing if not dedicated to the cause!

Anyway, to help get us all back in the mood for summer, this week we’ve got the first in our Sussex festivals series  – bringing you a taster of some of the many fantastic and fairly eclectic events that are on in our county, and we’ve also taken a quick dip into the Brighton Festival with a trip to Shoreham Harbour before heading north to Ashdown Forest.  All of which means there must be something here that tickles your fancy.

That’s it for now, I’m off to walk the dog in the rain (again) but with the optimistic belief that the sun will shine again eventually!
