Sussex walks, a weekend away and Medieval music

Welcome to this week’s newsletter and our unusual selection of Sussex walks and delicacies!

This week I went west, as I headed down to Goodwood and up the South Downs at The Trundle. And then I went east, to Bexhill, pausing only briefly in Horsham and Haywards Heath on the way.

During my travels, I fell a little in love with Bexhill on Sea and its quirky architecture, and I rekindled my ongoing love affair with the South Downs near Goodwood. I also picked up a few new (or rather, old) linguistic habits, as I explored the pages of the Dictionary Of The Sussex Dialect, and you could say that by the time I got back from all my adventures, “I aint done naun but just nestle about house, and I be quite nett-up this weather.  After all that dupping, I was fairly flogged .” And I’ll leave you to decipher that one!

On top of all of this, I am trying to fend off the desire to get excited about Christmas too soon but can’t help feeling just a little festive having caught up with the award-winning and utterly enchanting Mediaeval Baebes. They are performing at Horsham in December (look out for our free ticket give-away on social media this month).

Well, that’s it for now. I’m off to curl up in front of the fire as the weather turns cold and the leaves turn golden, and start planning some new adventures. Have a great weekend.
