A battle, a foolish walk of folly, a mini break & lots of food

After a brief re-acquaintance with my thermals, word on the streets of Sussex is that the weather is about to warm up again. Hurray.

So, I have lots of treats and suggestions if you want to get out and explore. It is, of course, the anniversary of the legendary Battle of Lewes and this weekend, the town comes alive with a massive re-enactment and Medieval village. There is lots to see that is free and it’s great fun following the battle through the streets of the town.

If you fancy something quieter, head to East Sussex and walk the Fuller Folly Trail. It’s a 7 km walk through some beautiful countryside that takes you via a number of unusual follies.

For those that want a little break from it all, head to the seaside with our 48 Hours in Adur itinerary with options for water sports or culture vultures depending on your preference.

And as Petworth is our town of the month, why not head there and fill your basket with lots of lovely local produce or try some of the foodie experiences you’ll find in and around the town – think wine and beer tasting, historic kitchens and markets.

Finally, hot off the press is the latest edition of our Sussex Exclusive Magazine. It is packed with summer inspiration and Sussex flavours so why not grab a beer, put your feet up with a copy to hand and do some summer planning.

That’s it for now, enjoy and have a great weekend.
