Explore the Sussex coast, go on a food trail, visit a NGS garden or try a remote and gorgeous walk

What I’ve noticed most this week is how scorched the landscape looks and the abundance of fruit already amassed in the hedgerows. Our plum and crab apple trees are weighed down to breaking and it feels more like late August and early September than mid July.

But it’s a wonderful time to be in Sussex and so this week, check out our Sussex Coast Guide (packed with inspiration, different ways to explore and places to visit) and our East Sussex foodie itinerary (for those that love to combine exploring and eating).

There’s also our monthly round up of “must visit” NGS gardens for August and a fabulous walk. The walk (from Amberley to Arundel via the “Stokes”) is one of my favourites of the year because in places it feels so remote and atmospheric.

Finally, as we head towards August, it’s nearly time for the epic Loxwood Joust: a sensory and historic extravaganza.

That’s it for now, I’m off exploring over the weekend and hoping to dodge the thunderstorms. Have a good one.
