We seem to be hurtling our way through August but I have tried to catch my breath by enjoying this year’s abundant hedgerow and fruit tree harvest. So far, I’ve made plum jam and chutney, plum gin and blackberry jelly as well as enjoying a bush breakfast of blackberries almost every morning. It’s a great time to be either out and about or in the kitchen.
If you are looking for some inspiration, well look no further. This week, I have a round up of what’s on in September for you (think lots of food fairs and festivals, as well as the incredible Art Wave). I also have a gorgeous walk for you at Robertsbridge and a great pub lunch in a bustling little village.
If you fancy something just a tiny bit more cerebral, then why not explore some of the county’s Art Deco architecture or book some tickets to the Chichester Film Festival. There are just two weeks left.
Oh, and news just in: there is a replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon docking in Shoreham (Wigan Wharf – Southwick) next week. You can visit it between the 27 and 31 August!
Failing which, there’s always sloe gin that needs making!
Have a good one.
