A heritage railway, a literary walk, a foraged recipe and things to do in Petworth

Another bank holiday weekend! How fabulous and what fantastic weather (let’s hope it holds).

To keep you busy over the coming weeks, I’ve got some lovely suggestions for you. Our town of the month for May is Petworth, so I’ve got a selection of things for you to see in and around the town. If you love wisteria (and who doesn’t), now is definitely the time for a visit!

If you’d like to explore the countryside, well, what about booking some time out to walk the West Sussex Literary Trail? There are lots of interesting things to do along the way and the route takes in some stunning countryside.

If you’d like to head east, then make sure you add a visit to the Kent and East Sussex Railway – it’s a heritage line with a fascinating WWI memorial van and it’s walking distance from Bodiam Castle.

But if you just want to sit in a deckchair and enjoy the summer what about making some elderflower cordial. I am on tenterhooks waiting for the first blossoms!

That’s it for now, have a great weekend.
