A reservoir walk, ghostly tales, & lots of things to do

Brrr! It’s certainly been a chilly week in Sussex with a few snow flurries. But it’s also been good to see a bit of blue sky and the first few signs of spring. I saw some daffodil shoots this morning!

But if the weather is getting you down, never fear, because this week I have some ideas to help you fill your diary with lots of wonderful Sussex experiences and I have eight January antidotes (in the magazine). We’re also featuring Hurstpierpoint as our village of the month, so we have some things to do in that part of the world too.

I also have a nice gentle East Sussex walk for you at Arlington. There are lots of other things to do in the area if you want to make a day of it. And I have tales of Viking ghosts at Kingley Vale. What a special place.

One of the first signs of spring for me is when I hear from Geoff Stonebanks of the NGS about the reopening of the NGS gardens so I was delighted when I received an email from him this week. In advance of the new season, he’s provided a round-up of some of the amazing NGS achievements. He’s also got the online booklet for this year’s gardens.

As always, there is lots more on the website, with everything from Sussex experiences to how to choose a new bed!

That’s it for now. Keep warm because apparently, the temperature is going to drop again next week!
