Welcome to this week’s slice of Sussex.
I think this is my favourite time of the year: just before spring, when it’s still all to come. It’s a great time for planning and everyone seems to be talking about the first buds and signs of summer, even if glimpses of the sun feel a bit rare.
So, with a spring in my step, this week I headed down to Chichester Harbour. This was supposed to be a 21 km run, but my companion and I decided to turn it into a walk around the Chidham peninsula. It’s almost completely flat and absolutely stunning!
With the Easter holidays looming, I also re-visited a stunning Sussex castle at Pevensey, a great place for those who enjoy our Roman, Norman and Medieval history. I love this corner of Sussex. On my way back, I stopped at Ashdown Forest for lunch at the Ashdown Park Forest Brasserie. What a treat! And they are really embracing Sussex produce.
Finally, Daisy Thomas found herself in Greenfinch in Ticehurst. It’s a shop I’ve driven past a few times and next time, I’ll definitely pop in because it sounds fabulous.
That’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
