Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Balls, things to do in Pulborough, elderflower & the Battle of Lewes

It’s a bank holiday weekend! How fabulous. Here’s hoping for some well deserved sunshine!

If you’re looking for things to do this weekend, I have got your back. As it’s National Walking Month, I’ve been out on the trails and I recently walked the Chalk Stone Trail (aka the Balls Walk). I was not sure what to expect but it delivered in spades. A beautiful route with thought provoking installations and a finish point at West Dean!

Or perhaps, you fancy heading to Pulborough, our town (or rather village) of the month. For a village, there is lots to do and explore, from vineyards and a brewery to a miniature railway – and yes, I had a ride.

Looking ahead, lovely Becci from Hygge Style has an elderflower cordial recipe you can make from foraged elderflower … great with a Sussex sparkling wine perhaps?  And later this month, there is the annual re-enactment of the Battle of Lewes.

And last but not least, I’ve got the latest edition of the SE magazine – hot off the press and packed with all sorts of Sussex loveliness, from adventure and summer traditions to mini breaks and foodie experiences. Do take a look.

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
