Beach walk, autumn colours, tasty muffins & November plans

It’s been a funny old week, with lots of grey sky, and I have found myself in the east in Battle and in the very west down at South Harting. I also met up with Simon from BBC Radio Sussex again this week to record a couple of shows, and I will share the details once they’re broadcast. It was a lot of fun.

Travelling across Sussex at the moment, you can’t help but notice the amazing autumn colours. The grape harvest is gathered in, the vines are turning gold, the beech trees and chestnut are vibrant orange and the very best of the season is about to unfold.

With all this in mind, I have some lovely autumn vibes for you this week. I have an interview with Iain Parkinson, Head of Landscape and Horticulture at Wakehurst, about the Loder legacy and the autumn colours. Sarah Thompson has also shared a thoroughly autumnal recipe for apple and pumpkin spiced muffins! I have a great round-up of November events for you, from jazz and truffles to the first Christmas light displays. And if all else fails, why not head off for a blustery beach walk or try your hand at crafting?

That’s it for now. Enjoy the colours and have a good one.
