North west of the historic market town of Midhurst in West Sussex, you’ll find the tiny hamlet of Titty Hill. It’s off the beaten track, surrounded by ancient woodland, and a short walk from the stunning views and wildlife of Woolbeding Common. It’s also on the Serpent Trail, a long distance walking route that snakes its way through some of the best West Sussex countryside has on offer.

here is much to enjoy and explore in this part of the world from the historic towns of Petworth and Midhurst to the South Downs National Park, the polo of Cowdray, the motorsport of Goodwood and the many outstanding Sussex vineyards. And at the heart of both this evocative corner of Sussex and of tiny Titty Hill is Titty Hill Farm, an old stone farmhouse thought to date back to the 17th century.

Indulge and revive
Titty Hill Farm sits on the gentle crest of a hill with a small green in front of it. In the grounds of the old farmhouse, you’ll find a little taste of luxury and restorative calm in the shape of The Potager and The Coop. These are two cedar-clad cabins which are perfect for an escape to the country. Suitable for couples, think oak floors, handmade kitchens and a king size bed with sumptuous cotton sheets.

Each cabin has a private patio (and a shared firepit) where you can enjoy al fresco dining, and careful attention to detail has gone into those all-important finishing touches like plump, fluffy cushions, deep sofas, and welcoming flowers.

These two delightful cabins are rustic but light, airy and contemporary. They also have all the modern amenities you need like internet speeds exceeding 100 Mbps, private off-street parking and a rapid EV charging point. Oh and a pub and shop within a 20-minute walk.

Character and sustainability
The owners of Titty Hill Farm have also been mindful of the local environment. The cedar wood was sourced locally from Arundel and a sawmill in Fernhurst.

There are reclaimed, handmade clay roof tiles and it’s hard to believe that the two beautiful kitchens were upcycled from a nearby country house. You would also never know that some of the furniture has been preloved and rainwater is harvested to feed the potager garden, the produce of which is available for use.

Escape to Sussex
This is one of those little corners of Sussex that remains close to city life (in the form of London and Chichester) but still feels wonderfully remote. There’s lots to explore, but equally lots of silent space in which to just be. And Titty Hill Farm is the perfect base for getting away from it all and giving yourself some well earned ‘you time’ in a beautiful space.
