Wow! December is flying by in a blur of twinkly lights. I’ve now visited seven of the eight Sussex National Trust Christmas displays – just Uppark to go. So far, they have all been very different but equally lovely. So much creativity and detail and a great excuse to explore the county.
Meanwhile, this week, I have lots of goodies for you. As Rye is our town of the month, I’ve been exploring things to do in the surrounding area – from walks and castles to vineyards.
I also revisited the Queen’s Head in West Chiltington in West Sussex. It’s under new management and what a transformation! I caught up with Mark and Curtis who are now at the helm to find out more.
Back in the summer, I also managed a walk at Brede High Wood. It had long been on my list as a gorgeous bit of woodland to explore and it didn’t disappoint.
Finally, and as it’s Christmas, I have an absolute smorgasbord of Christmas foodie ideas for you. Some are easy, some are very old and most are moreish!
This is the last newsletter before Christmas. Why? Because I always take the view that by this time next week, you’ll have other things on your mind. But I will be back on Boxing Day with lots of inspiration for that no man’s land of time between Christmas and New Year.
As you know, I am also on social media every day sharing my Sussex gallivants so do hop on over there and say hello.
But for now, wishing you all a very happy festive season. I hope Santa brings you something special – perhaps a book about Sussex!
Merry Christmas
