Fine food & sculpture, great walks & things to do in June

I love this time of year, don’t you? Nature bursting into life, lots going on and a chance to get outside at last. Even the mud is beginning to dry up!

Taking full advantage of the recent sunshine, last week I enjoyed outdoor sculpture at its absolute best! First I headed over to Borde Hill to see four new sculptures by Simon Gudgeon and to enjoy a couple of the other works there. It was a gorgeous day and the rhododendrons were dripping in flowers. After that I made my way to Petworth for the Moncrieff-Bray Gallery exhibition I was telling you about last week. It was another gorgeous day and a great chance to see some really outstanding work.

Whilst over in the west of the county, I also headed to Pulborough again as our town of the month, to check out what’s on offer for the discerning foodie. There is lots as it happens, from great wine to artisan bagels!

Talking of wine, this week we also got confirmation of the next Bubbles and Botanicals Fair! If you’ve been before, you’ll recall that it’s a chance to meet local producers and try local wine and spirits. And the date is the 2nd November. See you there.

As it’s still National Walking Month (and I didn’t want to neglect East Sussex), I also went east this week to Seaford Head. Whether you want a long 10 km hike, or a short stroll, it promises amazing views.

Finally, as the year gallops on a pace, I have a round up of some of the events that are on in June! There is so much that it’s hard to choose.

That’s it for now.

Take care.
