Mystical lakes, folklore, dragons & gin, Sussex wine & panto!

Another weekend is upon us and I know, like me, many of you are now caught up in the frenzy of Christmas. Or you’re trying to avoid it! Anyway, whichever camp you’re in, I have some seasonal treats for you.

As our town of the month, last week, I headed back to Uckfield to Lake Wood. Access is a little tricky but it’s a really magical little corner of East Sussex worth exploring.

I also headed to Worthing for an evening of storytelling and folklore with Dawn Nelson, washed down with Slake Spirits’ gin cocktails. It is the perfect way to take the edge off a long week! And if folklore is your thing, you’ll also love the Mediaeval Baebes who are performing in Horsham later this month. They are unique and their concerts are very special.

Talking of drink, a few months back, I met the folks at L&C Wine (Sussex online wine merchants) who are as excited about Sussex wine as I am. So I am delighted that they have a special offer on their Sussex wines for SE readers! I love their idea of a wine tour in a box.

Finally, if it’s panto you’re after at this time of year, last night Lisa Brace and her team of junior reviewers checked out Beauty and the Beast at the Horsham Capitol. Oh yes, she did, and the verdict is…

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
