Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Open air theatre, Ravilious, gardens & an experiment

OK, so the weather hasn’t been great and I don’t know about you, but last weekend there was definitely a touch of November about the rain. But nonetheless, there is much to be celebrated and enjoyed in Sussex at the moment.

This week, I have a whole heap of culture for you. Starting in August (next week), there’s a new Ravilious public art trail in Newhaven along with an organised walk. While over in the west, the Weald and Downland Museum is organising a number of open-air theatrical productions over the summer which you can enjoy on the lawns with a picnic (and wine!).

If you find yourself anywhere near Bognor or Arundel, you might want to visit Denmans Gardens at Fontwell. It’s a fabulous spot that feels off the beaten track and provides lots of inspiration. This weekend also happens to be the last weekend of the Bognor Coastal Art Trail.

Finally, for those of you with literary yearnings, how about taking part in best-selling author SJ Watson’s experiment and help him write a book? I caught up with him to see how the experiment is unfolding and it sounds like a fascinating process.

And finally, finally, our Sussex health expert has some really helpful advice about Alzeimher’s and some lifestyle and dietary modifications that may help.

That’s it for now from me for now. I’m off up the Downs to do a little sun dance.

See you next week.
