March is a wonderful time of year in Sussex. There’s lots of signs of life from the first blooms and blossom to the reopening of gardens, museums and historic sites. The whole summer stretches ahead, and it’s time to start coming out of hibernation. With this in mind, here are some suggestions for things to do in March in Sussex in 2026.

Andrew Ziminski and Church Going
4 March, 7 pm, St Peter’s Church, Petersfield
Ok, so this event is over the border in Hampshire, but it is raising money for St Peters and also Hardham Church in West Sussex, where the incredible frescoes are being put in danger by rising moisture levels.
Master stonemason, Andrew Ziminski, has worked on Salisbury Cathedral, St Paul’s, the Roman Baths in Bath, and even prehistoric monuments like West Kennet Long Barrow near Avebury. He has spent decades inside Britain’s greatest sacred and historic spaces, reading their stories in stone. His book, Church Going, has been called the ‘church-crawler’s bible and this talk isn’t just about masonry. It’s about why churches matter, how they’re built, how they age and how they are saved. Booking via Eventbrite.
