Vikings, truffles, Hastings and a whirlwind cultural tour

Just as I was settling into the idea of an Indian Summer, the weather gods of Sussex changed their minds. But the joy of Sussex is that there is still plenty to do when it rains.

An East Sussex cultural tour is a good place to start, and you really don’t have to be a high-brow culture vulture to enjoy some of our amazing cultural hot spots on offer. Or if history is your thing, do take a look at Graham Scott’s theory of a Viking Sussex invasion and then perhaps visit some of the places he mentions.

If you’re undeterred by the weather, than what about exploring Hastings Country Park? It is fairly unique in terms of Sussex landscapes and has got a real wild and rugged feel.

And finally, let us think about food once more because Sussex happens to be home to a truffle festival, wild truffles and truffle experiences…and what’s not to love about that.

That’s it for now. I am off down another twin town rabbit hole, have a great weekend.

Take care.
