Just when we thought spring was here, winter returned and just in time for half term! But let’s not let that hold us back as I have some lovely Sussex inspiration for you this week.
If you follow us on social media, you’ll know we visited the Chelwood Vachery Forest Garden recently on Ashdown Forest. It is truly delightful and so much more than I was expecting!
Last month, I also walked the second section of the Serpent Trail which took in Woollbeding Common. If you’ve never walked there, then you must because is is glorious! Our little Serpent Trail walk started with just three of us but we’re growing in numbers and it’s evolving into a wonderful experience.
For the foodies amongst you, this month we take a quick at food that Sussex is famous for – and what a smorgasbord of flavours we have. I hope it provides some culinary inspiration for those rainy days! Oh, and don’t forget we still have a discount on Sussex wines for you, in time for Valentine’s Day.
Finally, the more time you spend in Sussex, the more you realise that every church has a story. Which was how I found myself in St Botolph’s near Bramber. This little church tells the story of a completely transformed landscape since Medieval times. Last time I visited I was walking the South Downs Way and it was pouring so it was nice to see it almost in sunshine.
That’s it for now. The forecast for the weekend looks a bit soggy so perhaps it’s a case of Sussex cheese and wine all round.
Take care.
