Autumn walks, pumpkins, Alfriston & a bit of Lewes history

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind week at SE, which started with a flying visit to Horsham’s twin town of St Maixent l’Ecole and finished with visits to Chichester (where I climbed the cathedral spire), Bognor and Lewes. Lots more details of which will follow in due course.

If you follow Sussex Exclusive on social media, you’ll know I went to Lewes for the re-opening of the White Hart – a building steeped in Sussex history so it was great to have a good look round and learn more. Another place steeped in history is, of course, Alfriston which is our town/village of the month and which I revisited a couple of weeks ago. I always think the church on the Tye looks particularly lovely in autumn.

Talking of autumn, I know lots of you love your October walks, so I have some lovely route ideas for you (pub suggestions included). And for those with children or grandchildren, it is pumpkin season already, so I have a round up of Sussex PYO pumpkin farms and trails.

Finally, don’t forget to grab your tickets to Bubbles and Botanicals which is fast approaching. It would be lovely to see you there.

I’d like to say the forecast for the weekend is looking good. But it isn’t! Take care.
