Since my last newsletter, I have put in the miles – and have now done six of the eight Sussex National Trust displays (which has taken me from Rye to Petworth and back again). On my travels, I have got rather wet in all the rain we’ve had lately, but it’s definitely been worth it as the displays are all very different but equally atmospheric.
Rye is also our town of the month (and I must say, it’s looking gorgeous with its twinkling lights) – what a great time of year to visit. There is just so much to see and do.
Whilst in the area, it also gave me a chance to revisit the Gallivant at Camber Sands and its recently relaunched restaurant, Harry’s. If you haven’t been, it’s well worth the detour.
And talking of good food, with all the rain we’ve had, and with cold weather in the forecast, it’s definitely time to hunker down with something deliciously indulgent and warming. Cue Lemon Bomb AKA Sussex Pond Pudding … you know you want to!
That’s it for now. I’m off to lie down. Have a good one.
