Perhaps it’s the views out over the fields, the pond abundant with ducks and geese, or the ancient woodland to wander through that make Sussex Flower Glamping the perfect place to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

You will find Sussex Flower Glamping on a 100-acre family farm, on the edge of the picturesque South Downs National Park, 6 miles north of Brighton, and conveniently on a bus route. The farm is home to Cathy and James Flower, their two young sons, William and Freddie, 21 chickens, two cockerels and a cat.

Sumptuously decorated

The Shepherd’s Hut is beautifully decorated in cornflower-blue with flourishes of pretty pink and subtle country touches – all adorned with fairy lights and lanterns. Inside the hut, you can curl up on the soft double bed – freshly made with floral linen or sit and relax in front of the log burner as it warms your toes while the birds sing outside.

Escape into the bluebell woods

The woodland Bell Tent lies within ancient woodland of oak and ash, surrounded by native bluebells and facing due west towards the setting sun. The tent offers guests a boho interior with a real double bed covered in a sumptuous down duvet, cushions, and blankets. With two reclining swivel snuggle chairs facing out towards the opening in the woods, where better to sit and enjoy the sun going down with a glass of wine. Once darkness falls the area is softly lit with the twinkling of solar festoon lights.

A complimentary breakfast hamper is waiting for guests on arrival, containing freshly baked bread, half a dozen of their chicken’s finest free-range eggs, milk, jam, and butter – everything you would need to rustle up a delicious breakfast using the private off grid kitchen, tucked into a beautifully secluded area alongside each location.

When you come and stay, the woods and fields around the Shepherd’s Hut or Bell Tent become yours to enjoy as the dawn breaks or the sun sets. The family are on-hand to make sure you have everything you need. There is no electricity here; this is truly off grid, so as evening falls, light the candles, click on the fairy lights and ease back to watch the stars appear. Both the Shepherd’s Hut and Bell Tent have their own individual fire pits with wood and kindling included.

If you would like to wander further afield, there are two outstanding pubs within walking distance serving delicious seasonal food: The Shepherd and Dog and The Ginger Fox.
