Good food, hidden corners, heritage railways & things to do

Well the weather may have cooled a little but the sense of summer is ever present. Schools have broken up and it feels a little like everyone is just easing up a bit, which is as it should be.

So as you plan your summer explorations, I have a few ideas for you. I’ve loved discovering our Sussex heritage railways this summer and there is definitely something about steam trains and old railway lines which is very evocative.

If you like that sense of history and countryside combined, then why not plan a visit to Amberley and Houghton in West Sussex. There are lots of places of interest and it’s a stunning little corner.

If you’re looking for events, then check out our What’s on in August feature which has a diverse selection of things to do, and if you’re feeling hungry, try our interview with Katy Truss, in which she talks about food, Sussex food and what to expect at the Good Food Festival.

That’s it for now folks, have a good one.
