Honey, lakes, caves and gardens

Ok, so it has been a little chilly. But as I type, a heatwave is incoming! What’s more, in a rare freak of nature, the Bank Holiday weather forecast looks good!

So, what’s on offer this week? I am glad you asked. I recently headed back to Hastings, and one of my favourite places, Hastings Country Park and finally found the hermit’s cave. It’s an interesting walk there (not too long, but if the funicular isn’t working (and it never is when I visit), then you have the East Cliff steps to conquer). And the hermit’s story is a melancholy one.

As East Grinstead is our Town of the Month, I also set off to explore Weir Wood Reservoir (although autocorrect keeps changing that to Weird Wood!).

For the foodies, this week was World Bee Day, so how about grabbing some local Sussex honey? And if you want just a bit of pure bliss and inspiration, check out one of the NGS gardens that are open in June.

Finally, if you’re feeling a little old and achey (I know I am) Postural Alignment Specialist Sophie Keoshgerian has got some great tips and advice, so do take a look.

That’s it for now, have a great Bank Holiday weekend and keep cool!
