Becci Coombes of Wisborough Green in West Sussex has been crowned one of the UK’s most impressive female entrepreneurs by Small Business Britain’s ‘f:Entrepreneur #Ialso100’ campaign.

Becci is the founder and owner of Hyggestyle.co.uk which sells all things Scandi (she has Scandinavian roots) but she’s also a successful published author with books about upcycled crafting projects, foraging and Nordic recipes as well as being a champion of other local creatives and artists and a keen fundraiser. And of course, she writes for Sussex Exclusive!

HyggeStyle is all about cosy Scandi style and sells gifts and homewares, inspired by Becci’s childhood in Denmark but it also has different in-house ranges and exclusive designs supplied by local artists. The emphasis is on sustainable and eco-friendly decorations made from felt, wool, wood, iron, glass and ceramics, and they have just released their own range of sustainable craft kits. Becci also teaches foraging to local kids and runs pop-up craft workshops at local Sussex pubs! And now she can add being one of 100 inspirational and incredibly impressive female entrepreneurs from across the country to her accolades.

The f:Entrepreneur ‘#Ialso100’ line-up showcases trailblazing female founders who lead purpose-driven businesses alongside a roster of other responsibilities, such as volunteering, mentoring and community support. It’s part of a campaign to celebrate the multi-achievements of women running businesses in the UK today. Launched in 2017 by Small Business Britain – the leading champion of small businesses in the UK – the f:Entrepreneur campaign aims to raise greater awareness of the impact of incredible female business owners across the country, and help provide inspiration and role models to the wider small business community. The campaign offers a host of events, training, and networking opportunities to boost skills, capability, and confidence.

Lucy from Sussex Exclusive and Becci met when Becci offered her a hot water bottle and hat when Lucy was walking the South Downs Way and a friendship was instantly formed. On hearing the news about being featured in the #Ialso100 lineup, Becci said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to bits to be included in such a distinguished list of amazing businesswomen. It’s such an honour and a fantastic opportunity to meet other entrepreneurs and celebrate their achievements”.

And we’re thrilled for Becci too! She represents everything we love about the entrepreneurial people of Sussex and we love her recipes and crafting ideas.
