I cannot believe we’re heading into November already. Where has this year gone? Even as I type, there is what looks like the first frost on the ground this morning, and I’m watching leaves drift slowly down. There is no escaping the fact that we’re heading into the last two months of the year. But I also think November is one of the best months. Apart from the wonderful autumn colours, there’s that colourful segue from bonfire events and fireworks to the first Christmas events of the season.
With that in mind, what have I got lined up to inspire you this week?
Well, as we round up October’s Town of the Month, Bexhill, I’ve got one last urban walk around the town that takes in the very best it has to offer, with both a short and a longer option.
I’ve also been out and about visiting pubs (who doesn’t want to do that?) and headed down to West Chiltington and the Queen’s Head, a fabulous traditional pub with a bit of a Caribbean twist.
As a new month approaches, I’ve got my usual line-up of things to do in November, from Christmas markets to literary festivals and a whole lot more.
And Christmas wreath-making seems to go from strength to strength each year and is a fabulous way to get into the festive spirit. Workshops start within the next week or so and sell out fast, so I’ve put together a roundup of 20 that might be of interest.
Finally, for anyone following my Belloc walk across the county, the second section went really well on Sunday. I walked from Old Heathfield to Fletching, covering just under 25 km. The weather was sunny and fabulous, albeit a little windy! I’m in the process of writing it all up now, including the stories of some of my ‘missing women’ I’ve discovered along the way.
That’s it for now. Keep warm and have a great weekend!
