Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Smoked salmon, Standen House, NGS gardens & a nettle dress

Welcome to this week’s newsletter and our selection of Sussex snippets.

I’ve been banging on about spring for months, but this last week has been a bit grim. Relentless grey skies and footpaths that are muddier than they’ve been in ages. With this in mind, I hope I can cheer you up with this week’s newsletter.

First up, as part of our focus on East Grinstead, how about popping over to visit Standen House? It’s National Trust, beautiful inside and out, great for walking, and has an Easter egg trail.  Or, if you prefer, why not visit an NGS garden? It’s the perfect time for a bit of inspiration for the green-fingered amongst you.

If you are looking for something very different and absolutely fascinating, head to Chichester for a special screening of The Nettle Dress with Q&As with the nettle dress maker and the film’s director.

And as soon as the rain stops, get out there and stoke the barbeque, because I’ve got a super easy BBQ salmon recipe for you.

Finally, it’s that time of the month when we hear from our Sussex health expert, and this week she is discussing natural treatments and lifestyle modifications for shingles. Here’s the link: Treating Shingles.

Well, that’s it for now. Here’s hoping for a drier, sunnier weekend.
