Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Sound baths, trails, Tom’s & East Grinstead

Welcome to this week’s Sussex Exclusive newsletter.

Just when we thought it was safe to cast off our wellies and woolies, winter came back with a vengeance! Never mind, spring will feel all the sweeter for it!

And what better way to celebrate spring, than with some Sussex walking? As a certified map geek, I love it when I find a new trail, not least because so often they have a hundred Sussex stories woven into every footstep. So I’ve put together a list of 19 Sussex “big guns” when it comes to long-distance walks and I very much hope our paths will cross exploring some of these during the course of this year.

Walking always includes a couple of Pitts-Stops in my world, so this week, I’ve been back to Tom’s Food in Cuckfield for a spot of lunch. What a great place to recuperate if you are exploring the High Weald Landscape Trail.

I’ve also been back to East Grinstead checking out things to do in the area (there might be a mention of wine)! And after all these exertions, I had my first experience of sound bathing with the phenomenal Jez Smith! Wow! I’ve already booked another session.

Finally, I couldn’t let International Women’s Day go unmarked, and I happen to have been fortunate enough to touch base with three inspirational Sussex ladies recently who were kind enough to share their very different stories, and you can read about them here. IWD

That is it for now. Have a great weekend.
