Sussex Midsummer madness, jazz, gin, walks & Father’s Day

Welcome to this week’s serving of Sussex and … happy Sussex Day!

Yes, today is Sussex Day, so stop what you’re doing, pour yourself a drink, and share a toast with me to our beautiful county and all those who sail in her!  We are so lucky to have such amazing countryside and such a rich culture and heritage.

And the weather certainly seems to agree that Sussex deserves some glorious sunshine. What a week!

I’ve been out and about as always, and on one of the hottest days, I headed up the South Downs for a sunset walk …and it was take-your-breath-away stuff! I’ve also been hunting out some Sussex ideas for all of us who have forgotten Father’s Day (or who might just want to indulge ourselves). From bike rides to hang gliding and lots of beer, take a look.

And don’t forget that it’s nearly Midsummer. I always think we should take a moment and linger over the longest day and I’ve got some ideas to help you do just that.

Last but by no means least, how about some jazz, gin, and blues, and a saxophone workshop in the shade of the trees in Loxwood meadow?

That’s it for now. Enjoy the sunshine but stay safe and cool!

Take care.
