Seaford is a great destination for a number of things. First and foremost, has to be that it offers a wonderful gateway onto both the South Downs and the New England Coastal Path. But it’s also great for a bit of shopping in Seaford. So when you’ve done with the wonderful walks and tantalising trails, head back into the town and have a mooch around this selection of gorgeous shops that we found.
Inle Home
It was the octopus in the window that called my name here, and as luck would have it, they won Gift Shop Of The Year 2021/2022 (South England – Prestige Awards) so they have lots of lovely wares to fill your basket Their stock is all carefully chosen, they try to be as sustainable as possible and they even operate out of their seafront beach hut in the summer! Oh, and they’re very friendly and helpful.
Sussex Art Prints
At their recently opened Seaford studio, Sussex Art Prints sell unbelievably stylish art prints inspired by nature and the local surroundings. Their work includes limited edition prints which are a wonderful and evocative reminder of the stunning Sussex coast.
Lara’s Boutique
A gorgeous independent boutique with beautiful and colourful displays and a splendid mix of fashion, accessories, homeware, jewellery and toiletries. I could have lingered here a long time.
Gallery Uno
This is the new Art & Craft gallery from the Sussex Arts Collective. Unfortunately, it wasn’t open when we visited but we had a good peak through the window and there is a wonderfully eclectic collection inside.
Bob’s Retro Market
Flea market lovers eat your hearts out, this one is for you! From silver jewellery to retro posters, costumes and guitars … it’s got it all!
Onneke
Onneke is an illustrator and her beautiful, colourful work of the local countryside will lure you in (and for me, there was another octopus calling my name). Once inside, have a good browse because there are all sorts of other nick-nacks for sale. Onneke also sells from the pink beach hut on the seafront in the summer.
The Revival
Glamorous and good for the planet! This pre-loved store is different in that it only stocks designer and premium clothing, shoes, and accessories. As you can see, our photo really doesn’t do it justice!
Marks Jewellery and Antiques
If you’re looking for quirky homewares and “stuff”, make your way to Pelham Yard (next to Gallery Uno). They have gold and silver as well as other homely items and lots of other collectables.
Seaford Second-Hand Furnishings
Well, this one says what it does on the tin and is a great place for a good old rummage.
We loved our recent trip to Seaford. Everyone was so friendly, and there is some interesting history and architecture. So if you’re planning a walking weekend on the coast, add a stop in Seaford to your itinerary.
