Sussex wreath making workshops have never been as popular or important as we fall back in love with nature over artificial wreaths. But places fill up fast. Here are 20 workshops from across the county to help get you in the Christmas spirit.

Midhurst
Christmas wreath making and lunch
What about a festive two-hour workshop, run by local florist, Hattie & Flo, followed by a delicious lunch at The Spread Eagle in Midhurst?
Part of an award-winning team at Chelsea Flower Show, with over 20 year’s experience let the florists guide you step by step through the making of your own stunning creation.
Please arrive by 9.45am for a prompt 10am start. Your two hour workshop will be followed by a delicious two course lunch with a glass of Sussex sparkling wine at 12 noon.

How about a festive evening at Piccolino Chichester, in partnership with Rococco Flower with a Christmas Wreath Making Masterclass.

Make your way to The Arundel Tap House enjoy an evening of Christmassy creativity with Beachtown Booms.

Steyning
Being held at The Artisan Bakehouse, just outside Steyning, enjoy wreath making with local florist, Sam Green from The Crazy Daisy Company. If weather permits you can even forage in the garden here for extra fresh greenery! After the 2 hour wreath making, you finish with a 2 course festive lunch with wine/soft drink/tea & coffee.

At Warnham Nature Reserve they will be hosting their ever popular wreath making event using all natural materials. Please bring secateurs and any spare greenery you may have. Instructions will be provided along with refreshments.

The Sussex Flower Studio in Worthing are holding a number of Christmas wreath making workshops at which you’ll learn how to design & make your own beautiful wreath, using fresh moss, a selection of Christmas tree evergreens, mixed foliage & stunning seasonal decorations. Held at The Egremont.

Petworth
Get into the festive spirit and add some style to your Christmas cheer at Petworth House. Start by making your own wreath base from willow, which can be used year after year. Then learn how to finish your wreath using foliage collected from the grounds of Petworth. You are welcome to bring any other unique Christmas decoration pieces you would like to add to your wreath. Includes a hot drink and mince pie. Our workshops are suitable for all skill levels. All materials will be provided.

Shoreham
Held at The Ropetackle Arts Centre you will learn the traditional moss based method to create your very own festive Christmas wreath. You will start by mossing copper ring bases and then let the magic begin and transform it with a variety of evergreen foliage, berries, dried fruits, pine cones, and some gorgeous festive accessories. The wreaths are then finished with a choice of festive ribbons and ready for hanging on your front door.

Get into the festive spirit during this relaxed two-hour workshop, taking place in the Animal Room inside Borde Hill House, where you will create a traditional 14″ moss-based wreath to hang on your front door or to give as a present.

Enjoy a fun and creative afternoon in De la Casa’s cosy new workshop space and learn to make a beautifully festive, moss-based wreath.

Eastbourne
At The Lansdowne Hotel, enjoy a creative afternoon! They will assist you in making your own wreath to adorn your front door this festive season. Includes Lansdowne Festive Afternoon Tea.

Throughout November and December, The Brighton Flower Company offer public and private wreath-making classes. Public classes take place at The Temple Bar in Brighton, are two hours long and include everything you need to create the perfect wreath.
Private classes can be held at your home in Brighton or at a local venue.
Public workshop dates: 28 and 29 November, and 4, 5, 6, 12 and 13 December with a luxury class on the 11 December.

Bodiam
Get into the festive spirit and be shown step-by-step how to make your own wreath. Using fresh, foraged foliage gathered from both the Bodiam Castle and Bateman’s estates, enjoy crafting a personalised wreath for your home. They provide you with decorations such as ribbons for your wreath too. Hot drinks and festive snacks will be available during the workshop.

Head to Great Dixter near Rye, and join the team in the Medieval Great Hall to learn how to make your very own Christmas wreath.
