My feet have hardly touched the ground this week as I have been whizzing around the county once more, from Glorious Goodwood to Bexhill, Crowborough and Battle. But more of all that in due course.
Back at my desk, I have rich pickings for you this week. A few weeks back, I was lucky enough to visit the Secret Chapel at West Grinstead. It has an incredible story and opened my eyes to a part of our Sussex history and heritage that I really knew nothing about.
Last month, I also headed to East Dean in East Sussex. Seven Sisters can feel overcrowded in the summer, but I followed the Went Way down to Birling Gap and barely met a soul. It felt wild and remote despite being a hot summer day.
As we head into October, there are still a few NGS gardens open, so grab the chance while you can to enjoy late summer colour and blooms. Alternatively, head to Lewes and treat yourself to a wonderful weekend itinerary.
