Wow, it’s been another hot one! I took part in the Winchelsea Gastronomic Promenade last weekend; a seven-mile walk via Icklesham and the Brede Valley. It looked more like the Serengeti than Sussex and I was half expecting giraffes.
In other news, if you need a refreshing break, how about an almost coastal wine trail? I am on a mission to create trails where no car is needed, and this one is possible via public transport. You can even walk parts of it.
If history is your thing, what about Halnaker in West Sussex? It has windmills, ruins, oh, and a vineyard! Or head off for a gorgeous walk in a slightly hidden valley between Hangleton and Portslade.
And as we hurtle towards August at breakneck speed, have a look at our round-up of things to do – from film festivals to pirates, jousting and air shows. There is a lot on.
Finally, I am delighted to share the latest edition of our magazine. I am attaching the free digital version but for the first time, we have produced a rather gorgeous and very tactile print edition!
It is packed with inspiring days out, seasonal experiences, beautiful walks, insider guides, hidden gems and delicious local food and it’s designed to help you make the very best of Sussex over the coming months. We hope you’ll enjoy exploring this latest edition and perhaps discover a few new favourites along the way. Drop me a line for details of how to grab a copy of the print version.
That’s it for now. Have a good one.
