Bohemian Hastings, artisan bread making, a dream destination & the Sistine Chapel!

Welcome to this week’s newsletter and your Sussex soundbite selection

I have a confession. I have temporarily left Sussex for France on my holidays. But … not before I had a quick gallop around the county to make sure I had some Sussex delectables to share with you this week.

As it turned out, it was quite a gallop and it took me to Hastings. If you follow Sussex Exclusive on social media, you’ll know already how much I loved the Old Town. Hastings gets some bad press sometimes, but it’s full of charm and character and home to lots and lots of things to do. I’ll definitely be heading back there soon.

I also managed to squeeze in a visit to The Artisan Bakehouse to learn about baking bread. Apart from being lots of fun, this is a wonderful experience and a great one for the Sussex foodies amongst you.

Whilst on my travels, I popped into the Church of the English Martyrs in Worthing to have a look at its incredible ceiling. This was something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time and it really is pretty special.

Last but not least, I’ve been thinking about a recent visit to Ockenden Manor. This is one of my all-time favourite Sussex destinations and if you’re planning a mini break it’s a great place from which to explore Sussex or just relax and unwind.

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend and don’t forget you can read our Sussex Exclusive Magazine here:
