Hard as it is to believe, we are hurtling headfirst towards November. Next month, there is lots of Christmas stuff going on, as you might expect, but we have also tried to include some non-Christmassy things in our What’s on in Sussex in November 2025 round-up (we will be adding to this post all the time, so do check in again):

From 14 to 16 November, Midhurst will host its first-ever Jazz Festival, a celebration of music, culture, and community that blends local spirit with international flair. London to Brighton Veteran Car Run
Start the month in style on 2 November and watch this iconic veteran car rally that starts in London enters Sussex at Crawley and ends in Brighton.
Petworth Literary Festival
From 29 October to 9 November, the Petworth Literary Festival is a world-class arts festival with a diverse programme of music, arts and literary events around the town and surrounding area.

Luther Vandross, The Candlelight Concert (tribute)
This tribute concert on 1 November at Chichester Cathedral celebrates the velvet voice of one of R&B’s most beloved legends, known for his rich tones, emotional depth, and unforgettable love songs. From the upbeat joy of “Never Too Much” to the soul-stirring beauty of “Dance with My Father”, every moment will be filled with nostalgia, passion, and musical excellence. The Great British Truffle Festival, Plumpton
The Great British Truffle Festival is a unique celebration that brings together truffle enthusiasts from all walks of life, including novices, experts, dog lovers, foodies and nature enthusiasts. The festival is dedicated to the exploration and appreciation of Britain’s unique truffle ecosystem, offering a wide range of activities from engaging talks, workshops and cooking demos as well as have-a-go truffle hound training with your dog and the Truffle Hound Competition! Held on 22 November at Plumpton Racecourse.

Sussex Distiller’s Festival
Winter Comets and Curry at The Observatory Science Centre
On 15 November, at Herstmonceux, an informal but informative evening with a talk presented by a guest speaker followed by meteor spotting and viewing through the grand, historic telescopes (some of the largest telescope in the country). The evening includes a warming curry and expert guidance on all visible night sky objects.
Lights and illuminations
Leonardslee Lights start on 28 November with the theme A Midwinter Light’s Dream. Just over the border in Kent, the Bedgebury Pinetum Light Trail starts on 21 November.
