Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Luxury, Seaside Sussex Boutique Holiday Lets

As thoughts turn to summer, this year, more than ever before is going to be all about exploring the best parts of Sussex, discovering places you’ve never been to, and capturing beautiful moments in special places. And it’s just those sorts of ambitions may lead you to the Witterings, near Chichester.

Why the Witterings?

The Witterings are one of our county’s great and unspoilt gifts. If a sunny climate, sandy beaches, sand dunes, and shallow waters, aren’t enough of a lure, then there are the vibrant villages of East and West Wittering and the shingle beach Bracklesham Bay. Home to windsurfing, kitesurfing and other water sports, for anyone who loves the great outdoors, you also have the South Downs with its myriad of trails just a stone’s throw away.

The Witterings are in the unique position of being able to offer peace and seclusion at the same time as a smorgasbord of beautiful, restorative, or unusual things to enjoy. Historians can head into Chichester with its Roman remains or to Fishbourne Roman Place, pleasure seekers can head to Goodwood or Chichester Harbour, and nature lovers can head down to Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve, or Thorney Island.

Boutique and beach

Which is why it’s a pleasure to introduce Boutique Beach Luxury Holiday Lets, with their selection of luxury properties from one-bedroom apartments to homes sleeping 10, all within walking distance of the beach. We caught up with the husband and wife duo behind the boutiques to find out more:

“We love the coastline, the community, the village and most of all the water sports.

As a husband and wife team, we met originally on the Isle of Wight. Our careers both as an army officer and a primary school special needs co-ordinator kept us moving around the UK. But wherever we went, we built a property portfolio. It’s what we do when we are not doing our day jobs …

Six years ago, events conspired together to allow us to move back to the south coast. That’s when we discovered The Witterings. We fell in love with the place, bought a wreck of a house and moved in with our two little girls and a dog. We have not looked back.

Places to stay in Sussex

Our careers have taught us first-hand how challenging life can be and indeed how Coronavirus and lockdown has been for families, key workers and individuals alike. In the Witterings there are many interested and interesting people whose businesses have flourished despite everything the world has thrown at them.  For us, local is what it’s all about and we want to share the best of it all with everyone.

We adore property and as well as managing properties for others, we also own an ever-expanding portfolio of local holiday let properties ourselves. Because we are both local landlord and local agent, we have the unique opportunity to unashamedly shout about the delights of The Witterings with visitors far and wide, knowing instinctively what it takes to make a perfect home from home stay.

Places to stay in Sussex

For us it’s not just about the aesthetics of the area, it’s also about the roots of the community. We have local art inside our properties, local food in the welcome baskets. It’s about sharing and interlinking local businesses with our own and spreading the joy that this place has to offer.

As well as property management, we are on hand (usually a bike ride away …) to share our experience of home renovation and design with those thinking of developing a new holiday home.

And finally, we have developed a property concierge service, where we offer a unique housekeeping subscription service for second homeowners and also opportunities for holiday homeowners to give their tenants exciting experiences such as fine dining or water sports tuition to bolt on to their stay.

Beautiful beaches, traditional shops, fabulous food, we’ve got it all here. We can’t wait to share it with you.”
