Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Bluebells, cheese toasties, stunning Great Dixter & eclectic places to stay

Welcome to this week’s newsletter just in time for another bank holiday weekend!

I’m back from the Sahara and very much alive. Thank you for all your support. As this is a magazine about Sussex I won’t bore you with the details, but as it was a trek all about raising money for Sussex’s St Catherine’s Hospice, I will be featuring it on the blog. I’ll let you have a link to that when it’s ready as we have raised a significant amount of money.

Meanwhile, I have not neglected you and have been out and about hunting down glorious Sussex treats. I have a fantastic walk for you which if you do this weekend will reward you with bluebells and wild garlic, and if you do in a few weeks’ time will reward you with some stunning rhododendrons.

Heading back towards Rye (our town of the month), we’ve got some charismatic places to stay if you’re planning a mini-break and a quick look at the magnificent Great Dixter house and gardens in Northiam – so worth a visit.

Our resident health consultant has also been hard at work and has some help and advice for those struggling with ADHD, so if you know anyone who might be interested in that, do let them know. It’s a great resource.

That’s it for now. As you read this, I’ll be up north representing Sussex in a national public speaking competition – it couldn’t be more different to the Sahara!

Have a great weekend.
