Welcome to Friday and this week’s Sussex Exclusive newsletter
Happy Imbolc and Candlemas! We’ve made it to the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.
This week, in search of blue skies and sun, I headed over to Forest Row (no, I don’t know why I was looking there either). I haven’t been to Forest Row in about 30 years but if it’s the same in looks, it’s very different in character and I really enjoyed my forage around the town and surrounding area.
I also headed down to Littlehampton, primarily because I wanted to visit the Long Bench but I also really fancied a nice, gentle beach walk. It didn’t disappoint.
Whilst the Dark Skies Festival kicks off this weekend, I know not all of you are night owls. So, for the early birds amongst you, and before the mornings start to get too light too early, I thought you might enjoy watching the sun rise instead of set. There are some fabulous viewpoints in Sussex and it’s got to be one of the best ways to start the day.
Last, but by no means least, I haven’t mentioned Sussex wine in a while but this week I got wind of a new Sussex sparkling rosé from the folk at the Busi Jacobsohn vineyard. I may have found my happy place.
That’s it for now. Have a great weekend.
