We’ve hit that moment when all the trees have now burst into green, and Sussex is looking wonderfully lush. Ok, so the weather this week has been a little peppery, but there is still plenty to enjoy.
As this year celebrates 100 years of Winnie the Pooh, why not go on a bear hunt? Nothing quite beats a game of Pooh sticks at Pooh sticks bridge and a walk on Ashdown Forest. While you are out and about, you might also want to visit Standen House, just outside East Grinstead. It’s an Arts and Crafts house and from there you can also walk down to Weir Wood Reservoir.
We are now slap-bang in the middle of the very short asparagus season, so I have designated asparagus as our Produce of the Month. Buy it fresh from the farm and try a few super simple, Sussex-inspired recipes.
