Horsham, beaches, ice cream, wildlife and wine

While I have wrestled with the lurgy (honestly, who gets the lurgy in the summer), the year quietly slipped into July, and we were all left wondering, ‘Where is this year going?’ As the heat is also set to return, it feels like a good moment to pause. I don’t know about you, but with all the rushing around in life, there is a risk the season slips by unenjoyed and unappreciated.

With this in mind, I have some inspiration for you. Slip down to one of our favourite Sussex beaches for a cool dip or a stroll (early or late to beat both the crowds and the heat) and then head home and make your own Sussex ice cream.

If beaches aren’t your thing, try our wildlife and wine ideas, sticking to the cooler nature reserves and wooded areas to spot local wildlife before relaxing with a glass of Sussex. Or head to Horsham, our Town of the Month, and see what’s going on.

In other news, don’t forget to keep an eye on our What’s On in July feature and check out our interview with an entrepreneur.

That’s it for now. Keep cool and carry on.
