Discover, explore and savour the best of Sussex

Singing, shopping, eating, drinking & fine gardens!

Welcome to this week’s Sussex Exclusive newsletter, all about life’s simple pleasures!

And just like that, summer is slipping through our fingers, and as I type, it’s raining. Although I must say, it feels like forever since my last newsletter and I missed you!

But I haven’t been idle and there are lots of things coming up this autumn to be excited about. Let’s start with the Steyning Food and Drink Festival which runs throughout September and showcases an incredible array of local produce and foodie experiences along with some great discounts at local venues.

From there, head east to Hastings and explore the independent shops of the Old Town. You will find oodles of local produce here and lots of ideas for Christmas (there, I said it already). There are some great bargains to be had too with a number of vintage and second-hand stores.

If music is more your thing, head west to Chichester and join Kerry Le Bern for an evening all about the leading ladies of our well-known musicals. I first heard Kerry sing at the Floral Fringe Fair and just loved her sultry style.

Finally, while you are whizzing around the county, do visit some of the stunning NGS gardens recommended by Geoff Stonebanks. It’s nearly the end of the season and he has suggestions that will take you from Midhurst via Lewes to Northiam!

That’s it for now. Enjoy the weekend and these very first days of autumn, and don’t forget to check out our Sussex Exclusive magazine.
