Hot, hot, hot! It is certainly turning into quite a summer here in Sussex. Out and about, the grass already has that scorched look and up on the Downs at sunset this week, the landscape below shimmered in a golden glow.
Love it or hate it, the hot weather seems here to stay, so here are a few ideas to either help keep you cool or distract your mind from the heat.
As Horsham is our Town of the Month, I have been out and about exploring local walks, and one of my favourites is the Sharpenhurst Hill walk. Full of quirky finds and great views, it’s not too long and has a farm shop on route for refreshments.
Earlier this year, I also tried my hand at sunrise beachcombing. I found nothing but absolutely loved it. What a way to keep cool.
If you are looking for a little more culture, I was super excited when I got wind of a Gastronomic Promenade taking place in Winchelsea. Combining great local food, walking and history, what a fantastic way to really discover an area in a day. And speaking of one-day itineraries, what about immersing yourself in some of the great modern art you’ll find in Chichester?
In other news, if, like me, you’re trying to get on top of your summer fitness, we’ve got some advice for you and don’t forget to check out our summer magazine and our What’s On In July feature.
That’s it for now. Keep cool and carry on.
