Staycationing is the new normal which means it’s time to explore and enjoy our beautiful county. Based in West Sussex as I am, the far corners of East Sussex feel almost exotic which is one of the reasons to love Stoats East Sussex holiday cottages.
This is a home from home staycation experience which sleeps up to nine people across four bedrooms. What’s really delightful about Stoats though, is its position. Between the High Weald and Romney Marsh, you have Winchelsea Beach and Winchelsea within minutes. You’re also only a short walk from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and a short drive from the enchanting and historic town of Rye.
Staycation with family
It’s the perfect spot for a staycation with family. On Camber Beach you’ve got horse riding, golf, kitesurfing and the dunes! You’ve also got plenty of walking and easy cycling or you can visit Port Lympne zoo which is within easy reach.
Escape and recover
For a bolt hole and adult escape, you’ve got local farm shops, vineyards, roadside stalls selling seasonal fruit and locally caught fish. You can also enjoy nearby galleries and theatres in Hastings (Jerwood, White Rock) and Bexhill (de la Warr pavilion). This is 1066 country with connections with William the Conqueror at nearby Camber, Bodiam, Scotney and Hastings castles, or you can just unwind and enjoy bird watching, painting or walks along the coasts.
Dogs of responsible owners are welcome and Winchelsea Beach eastwards is not dog-restricted in the summer.
